Biography

Jennie M. Perez-Martorano is a visual artist, educator, and public speaker based primarily in southern New Jersey but lives in Maine midcoast region for part of the year. She earned a BA with specializations in ceramics and painting with New Jersey teacher certification in visual art K-12 and an additional Glass Art Degree. Jennie has been working with glass in various forms for over twenty years. Her expertise is in kiln forming techniques and casting but she enjoys glassblowing in the hot shop for fun. She has retired from teaching visual art at the secondary level for 26 years in a large urban public school district in New Jersey. Currently, she volunteers as a TA for Salem County Glass Education Center.

Jennie is also a strong advocate of social causes close to her heart and has a long history of volunteering at different organizations including her role as a Healing Conversations outreach worker for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s. Jennie has spoken publicly at several charity events.
